TECHNOLOGY (PROTOTYPE) :
Libélula nanochips are installed by local environmental inspectors on high-value tree species located at strategic points (areas threatened by illegal deforestation). This hardware sends its location to a base (software) in real-time.
The base (and the sponsors) receive a real-time alert whenever a movement in the hardware position is recognized.
With the support of real-time satellite images and drones, inspectors verify the alert remotely.
In case of illegal extraction, inspectors can reach the place minutes after the crime started, preventing deforestation in its first stages.
The Libélula nano-chips can also work to track the timber’s destination and as a monitoring tool for farmers that preserve the forests.
